Nails are strong, sturdy, sharp. They are permanent fixtures in many objects. They can be made of varying metals and sizes.
Jesus’ body was pierced by three nails. These nails stood for the three temptations that Jesus had conquered. The lust of the eye, pride of life, and the deceitfulness of riches.
Jesus was hung on the cross by these three nails, like a beautiful artwork masterpiece. He was nailed to a load-bearing wall. Jesus was hung on the wall between Heaven and Earth. He carried the weight of sin’s ceiling on His shoulders. Once He was taken down, sin came crashing down with Him. Once sin was fallen, Heaven and Earth could now be adjoined through Him. His resurrection made sure of that!
No longer is there a division! Sin has been dealt with forever! The cross brought Heaven and Earth together through Jesus. Through Him, we can communicate with Heaven and Heaven can communicate through us.
We have access to all of Heaven’s treasury of wisdom, riches, blessings, and goodness! We have access to our Heavenly Father who encourages, strengthens and loves us unconditionally! We have access to Holy Spirit who leads and guides us daily into truth and understanding! Hallelujah! We lack nothing because of what Jesus has done for us.
