Hope is Born

Darkness and sadness
Reigned supreme
God was silent
Working behind the scene
He carefully searched
The whole world and found
One who would believe
His Word and renown
He sent His best agent
Archangel Gabriel
To meet with this girl
The one who’d bear His son
For God was ready
To save all humanity
Even from the beginning
He’d been planning this out

Gabriel told all his friends
They began to spread the news
All of Heaven is excited
Every creature is stirring
And every angel is singing
Can you hear the melody?
God Himself begins to dance
All of Heaven follows along
For the most joyous occasion
The time of redemption
Draws ever closer
To God’s beloved children
They’ll finally see Him
As He’s always been
And who He always will be
The perfect image of Love

Gabriel flies quickly
To the bedside of Mary
He can hardly wait to proclaim
The good news of Jesus Christ
He gives her the word of grace
She accepts with a humble heart
She can hardly contain herself
The One we’ve waited for
Is coming through her bloodline
The virgin birth is set in motion
The King of King’s and Lord of Lord’s
Immanuel, God with us
Is about to be brought into the world
A light that will shine forevermore
The Messiah, our God, the Perfect Lamb
Is on the way to rescue us

The stars aligned
To welcome their King
All the wiseman could see
Something new happening
The shepherds were in awe
Of all the angels’ sound
They ran to the barn
Where Jesus was
Mary and Joseph were full of joy
For their first child
Would change the world
They wrapped Him up tightly
And kissed His head
They bowed to the ground
And thanked their God
For Hope is born
