Marrow and Naval

Proverbs 3:5-8 (KJV) 5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
Trusting in God is health to the naval and marrow to the bones. What does this really mean though? Let’s break it down.
Naval or bellybutton is where the umbilical cord was connected to the mother. Health to the naval means endless supply and provision. God is our El Shaddai, the well-breasted one. This refers to a motherly affection to take care of her children: to give them whatever they need. As we trust God, He supplies all of our needs.
Marrow is found in the bones. Marrow is a source of red blood cells that carry oxygen throughout the body, white blood cells for fighting infections and platelets to help blood clotting. The main source of marrow is the spine. The spine or back signifies stability, strength, and peace. To strengthen the bones with marrow would mean to increase the body’s ability to function correctly, fight off sickness effectively, and clog any open wounds of the heart. Anything that relates to body or soul is healed because of our trust in God.
In this one verse we have determined that Our Heavenly Father supplies for our every need, abundantly provides provision, gives us peace, stability, strength, enhances our body’s natural ability to heal itself and fight off sickness, and restores every wounded heart. Hallelujah!
