You’ll listen to whatever is loudest. Whose voice is louder? The world’s or the Word’s? Does your body speak louder than the words of God? Does your heart speak louder than the words of God? Do your relationships speak louder than the words of God? Do your finances speak louder than the words of God? Do the circumstances speak louder than the words of God? You must quiet everything else so you can hear the whisper of the spirit.
Want to know why He speaks in a whisper? Because that requires the greatest amount of concentration, focus and desire to hear Him. God doesn’t need to drown out the other voices because He has authority over them. He’s not trying to compete with them. He’s already way above all of them. It comes down to your decision to hear His voice.
