Wrote this song a couple days ago. I picture the setting as Paul and Silas thrown in prison after being severely beaten. Kept in the lowest and darkest cell: bound in shackles and chains. Rats and vermin would run rampant. Waste would drip on them from the ceiling. And yet, they found the strength to praise God. How hard it must have been to breathe let alone sing with your back completely sore! They had to stir up their faith. It’s not always easy or natural to praise God in hardship, but once you put your focus on Jesus, joy will rise up within you and you will praise Him.
